Intel Core i7 990X
Intel is planning to launch core i7 990X in Q1 of 2011. Intel clocked it at 3.46 GHz which would be 130 MHz faster than the current fastest Nehlam processor the core i7 980X which runs at 3.33GHz .

The core i7 990X is a Gulf-town (6 cores, 32nm fab) cpu with a clock speed of 3.46 GHz and will overclock up to 3.73GHz with turbo technology .
The core i7 Extreme 990X has 12 hyper threaded cores and its Quick path Interconnect runs at 6.4GT/s.
The memory controller is 3 channel and the Max TDP is 130watts.

The core i7 990X is priced around $999 and is expected to release in the Q1 of 2011.
The intel core i7 990X doesn’t look like much of an upgrade as it clocks only 130 MHz faster than its predecessor the 980X which can be overclocked to attain that speed easily.
