For old gpus support for nvida drivers are stopped ,like for the FX series and 7 and 6 series latest drivers arent available ,but if you own one and still want to update your gpu to latest drivers then here is a procedure .
when you click to install the driver setup ,firstly it extracts ,note the location where it is extracted .
Now right click on your my computer icon and ,click Hardware tab and then click on device manager
Under display adapters ,select your gpu and right click on it and click update drivers
check as shown below and click next
Now browse to the location where the drivers were extracted
select the file name as shown
Now you will see a list of nvidia gpus,just select one gpu that has been listed in the nvidia driver compatiilty list that you are willing to install,to make it simple just choose a latest gpu and thats it your done.
