well folks so now since nvidia is still behind with there dx 10 cards & Ati is rushing through with there new 5XXX series dx 11 cards ,which one should u be buying ??

so if u are buying new card ,what should u be looking for ,just becoz nvidia doesn’t have dx 11 support will u delete it from ur option of buying ??
well i wont do that readily ,it depends ,as dx 11 is a great feature but still it hasn’t conquered much of the games(well this will happen when the new ps4 or x720 arrives) ,and again say in coming 1 year it does u can still access 80-90% of features of dx 11 in dx 10 itself ,actually until windows 7 came most of the gamers were still running xp and gaming on dx 9.0c ,but hey i dont say that Tessellation effects aren’t worthy ,but if u are getting a very decent deal for a gtx 260 over the 5770 ,question arises should u take it or not ?
performance difference is 15% or so and cost of the gtx 260 is yet less ,but again remember the 5770 is much more power efficient ..
so the verdict goes like this ,if u want a very power efficient card + great features and performance go for the DX 11 red hotties ,but performance is the only criteria and u dont want to pay an extra penny for anything that results in lesser FPS then nvidia cards are still a good option .
so decide which of the above mentioned options goes with your perception .

So now comparison for DX10 Vs. Dx11 goes for ATI Vs NVIDIA…eh?
Well for me at present stage, I would pick up card which will perform better. Dx11 has good potential but at present only 1 games uses Dx 11. So if you are paying extra for Dx11 now it’s not worth it. After 6 month NVIDIA will comes with it Fermi Dx11 supporting card and we will see competition and price drop by ATI, that would be right time to buy an GPU if you are much conserned about VFM.
At present NVIDIA holds edge only in low end segment. They have priced old card nicely. So at low end NVIDIA offer better.
Coming to Mid End and High end…all hail ATI. 5xxx series has high performance, very low power consumption and still prices are very good. So it’s ATI all the way. It’s the same condition for High end…ATI is ruling GPU world. ATI will keep on ruling until we see NVIDIA Fermi release. ATI has already made lot’s of profit with it’s 5xxx series and it will make more until NVIDIA release Fermi(again we can’t gaurantee Fermi will better than ATI 5xxx series).
If we talk of Mid range and you conclude that NVIDIA (eg. GTX260)is better VFM, then…Hello there is 4870. ATI 4xxx series is not dieing yet! So, if you think that you don’t care of Dx11 and want best VFM card. Just NVIDIA is not your option, don’t forget ATI 4xxx.
Conculsion:
Low End: prefer NVIDIA VFM card.
Mid End & High End: ATI 5xxx series for you. You get high performance, low power consumption. and even if you compare prices of ATI 5xx series card supporting DX11 to NVIDIA cards Price is almost same. But you can’t go wrong with purchasing ATI 5xxx as you will be future proof and have low power consumption.
The 5750 and 5770 are so under-rated.
This should clarify…

i dont think it is under rated there , one can still overclock it better than other cards and overall features of the card and its performance makes it a great deal
@ J
just look at the hardware they used for testing .
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5770,2446-4.html
disable the onboard ATI audio driver. Get a free 20% increase in performance. I did on my card.
Secondly. I have a high end audio card already. I don’t need the onboard audio. But oddly unless you disable that audio it will always be encoding decoding.
Stupid idea on ATI’s part. BTW stock and overclocking the hd5770 I get far beter bench mark returns then Tomshardware. You will also notice they almost exslcusivelly test with Intel hardware. For whatever reason I get beter benchmarks with my AMD based machine with its AMD chipset and AMD processor then Toms Hardware.
Could be some arhitectual differences between the 2 chip makers that hampers performance.
Aw, this was a actually nice post. In concept I wish to put in writing like this additionally ?taking time and actual effort to make an excellent write-up?even so what can I say?I procrastinate alot and by no indicates seem to get something done.
